Early Life

Keaton was born Michael John Douglas in Pennsylvania and grew up in a large family. He adopted the professional surname Keaton early in his acting career to avoid confusion with the already established actor Michael Douglas.

Comedy & Beetlejuice

Keaton gained attention with comedy roles in films such as Night Shift and Mr. Mom. In 1988, he starred as the wildly eccentric title character in Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice, creating one of the most recognizable performances of his career.

Becoming Batman
