🏡 Yorkshire Beginnings
Stewart was born in Mirfield, Yorkshire, England. He developed an interest in acting while young and left school at 15. After working as a newspaper reporter, he pursued acting professionally and eventually studied at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
👑 Shakespeare & the Stage
Long before becoming a television star, Stewart built his reputation on the stage. He joined the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1966 and performed in numerous classical productions, establishing the commanding voice and theatrical presence that later became trademarks of his screen career.
